THE CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT REGISTER (BGL) 2025

As early as the 1950s, German and Austrian construction associations independently developed industry standards to serve as the basis for internal and inter-company accounting of construction equipment. In 2020, for the first time, a joint version of the CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT REGISTER was published by the specialized committees of the "Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie e. V. (HDB)" and the "Geschäftsstelle Bau der Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKO)". This successful collaboration has now been continued with the present CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT REGISTER 2025 (BGL 2025).

Compared to the 2020 edition, the content has been updated to reflect technical innovations and necessary changes in construction practice. Numerous new pieces of equipment have been added, particularly in the areas of electromobility and alternative drives. In order to incorporate the variety of new equipment types into the existing structure, the previously purely numerical classification scheme has been expanded in some groups to include an alphanumeric structure. Nevertheless, the greatest possible continuity has been maintained overall. The key structural elements—equipment group, equipment subgroup, equipment type, the technical specification(s), and the manufacturer-independent average new value—remain core components of the BGL 2025. All economic key figures, especially the average new values, have been updated.

As with previous editions, the BGL 2025 is offered as a bound book, an online version, and a structured data format (CSV file) for construction companies, allowing integration into internal ERP and costing systems.

The online version of the BGL 2025 is updated as needed to include new equipment and accessories.

The online BGL has once again been revised in terms of both content and functionality. Among other improvements, the functionality for managing custom equipment configurations under "My Equipment" has been expanded based on practical requirements.

With the online BGL and structured data, the digital process management required in entrepreneurial practice is consistently supported. Modified datasets can be easily integrated into individual datasets via an update process and a newly implemented change documentation system for recipients of the CSV data (construction companies).

On the Revision of the Online Edition

The login area of BGL Online is now more clearly separated from the information page of the BGL and is accessible via the menu item at the top of the service navigation. After registration (or for existing users, direct login), users can comfortably explore the BGL content and carry out edits. The workspace is divided into the navigation area on the left—featuring the familiar structure of 21 main equipment groups, a search function, and a bookmark area—the information area in the middle, and the function area on the right, which contains a number of helpful widgets for working with the data.

In BGL 2025, it is now possible to create custom lists with equipment sizes and appropriate additions. Notes are displayed collectively in the dashboard, making them easy to manage and retrieve. The operational functions within the lists have also been expanded.

With a dedicated page for operating the new applications, as well as help links at all relevant features, users can fully utilize the potential of the BGL Online.
